About NSEC

The Nanoscale Science and Engineering Center (NSEC) funded by the National Science Foundation is a research collaboration with Harvard University, the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, the University of California-Santa Barbara, and the Museum of Science-Boston with participation by Delft University of Technology (Netherlands), the University of Basel (Switzerland), the University of Tokyo (Japan), and the Brookhaven National Laboratory, the Oak Ridge National Laboratory, the Sandia National Laboratory, and the National Enterprise for nanoScience and nanoTechnology (NEST, Pisa, Italy).

The goals of our Center are to make and understand ultra-small electronic devices and to develop physical tools for the study of biological cells as systems. Through a close integration of research, education, and public outreach, the Center encourages and promotes the training of a diverse group of people to be leaders in this new interdisciplinary field.
